Silver Skylarks (Daniel Balis and Skin Wade) return with a groove-heavy, vibe-rich double single, “Natural High” b/w “That’s The Game,” out June 6 on Skylark Soul Co. The tracks are a soulful journey back to the warm, analog sound of the 1970s and mark an exciting collaboration with jazz-R&B icon Ronnie Laws.
Ronnie Laws, an influential figure in the 1970s R&B-jazz movement, lends his signature saxophone and flute to both songs adding tasty melodic solos. After launching his career with Hugh Masekela and Earth, Wind & Fire, Laws iconic solo debut on Blue Note included the now R&B Jazz staple “Always There,” and his productions have been sampled numerous times by Hip-Hop, Dance and R&B artists.
