New York-raised, Dallas, TX-based singer-songwriter Paul Schalda (Sha La Das, Paul & The Tall Trees, Charles Bradley) is dropping the third single from his upcoming debut solo album, Lately. After last month’s soaring, pensive indie rocker “Alarmist,” Schalda flips the vibe with the funky upbeat earworm “Can You See Yourself With Me.”

Produced by Robert Ellis and “Skin” Wade, the tune lives somewhere between the early 70s lanes of Allen Toussaint and John Lennon and vibrates with warmth while serving as a we’ve-all-be-there sing-along mantra of hope that a crush feels the same way about you. The whistling organ licks of legendary keys man Victor Axelrod (Antibalas/Amy Winehouse) takes the tune to a different orbit.

Catch Paul live opening up for North Texas legends Midlake at Tulips in Fort Worth on November 15th. Tickets.
