Michael Lee, a Fort Worth, TX native, grew up immersed in the “817” North Texas blues & soul sound. “ I have the home video to prove it, this has been in my blood since I could walk,” says Lee. He spent his days learning how to play guitars like his heroes – Stevie Ray Vaughn, Freddie King, Lucky Dixon & others. In 2020, Lee toured with the BB King Band “recording and touring the world with them was a Texas blues boy’s dream come true.”

The two new singles, were recorded at Niles City Sound in Fort Worth, Texas. The studio, originally founded by members of White Denim, is based in a converted warehouse and has gained notoriety over the last decade for its embracing of vintage gear & being a space where artists can really find their sound.  “I wanted the song to have that retro vibe, a callback of sorts to that golden era of music, and what better place than Niles City to create that,” Lee says of recording there.
